POMMER - ARTE & ALTROVE

Pittura Fotografica

Photographic Painting
In everyday life, we often only perceive what our conditioned brain interprets as useful. Many visual situations are therefore taken in by the subconscious, but censored and, unfortunately, all too often filtered. Sometimes they reappear, for example, in dreams.

Most of the images shown here are reflections, diaphanies or pareidolia and depict real subjects, not surrealist fantasies. They could also be described as a metaphorical search for other possible realities.

These images therefore have no depth of field and are not the result of forced compositions. These images therefore have no depth of field and are not the result of forced compositions. A natural optical filter such as water (including ice or fog), but also an artificial filter (such as glass, plastic, etc.), can emphasize or dissolve an image and, together with the light, completely alter the perception of a real situation

In addition to photographic techniques, further techniques such as sponge dabbing, watercolor foil, and the time-honored gouache are often used in post-processing to give the images a warmer, more ethereal quality.

All works are photographed without multiple exposures, printed with acrylic paint on canvas or cardboard, and then finished with acrylic paints, shellac, and beeswax. These final treatments lend the works a natural, dreamy softness.

Fotografische Malerei
